Hi all,

Cornwall's rocks beckon and I'm determined to make the most of the summer.

I have mostly spinning / plugging from the rocks for mackerel / bass / pollack in mind, but doubtless I might find myself wading into the surf, or doing the odd bit of float fishing for garfish / mullet or even light legering for wrasse ...

I have a 9 foot Leeda 10-40g spinning rod which is probably better suited for perch and pike, and a Ron Thompson 11 foot "Bass Rod" with a rather soft / floppy action which is OK for float fishing and chucking heavy spoons ...

Am I right in thinking I need something with a bit more "springiness" ?

I'm drawn to try a telescopic for easier access to rocky marks and wonder if something like the Fladen Vantage carbon/glass fibre rods would suit the task at hand ?

I don't want to spend too much as I'm only an occaisional angler.

Any advice would be gratefully received /forum/smilies/smile_smiley.gif

You will probably find the RT Bass rod is not up to the job, depending what you hit into, but if it was me, I'd use it anyway just to wet a line.

Good luck mate.
