WOW, what a smell!

Rather foolishly I forgot about a bucket of hemp, it must have been left in a hot shed for well over a week. The bucket, now empty, had a nasty smell of rotting hemp. Anybody know how to remove the smell? Cleaning the bucket and leaving it out in the fresh air for a couple of days has done nowt.

Just as an aside to this; when ageing your own particles like hemp etc what is the 'right' smell for it to take on.

For example I have had particles that fermented with white stuff floating on the top and it smelt of sick. But I have also had old hemp/groundbait etc that has started to smell like vinegar!

What would be the correct old age smell for particles? Maybe this needs its own thread...

The white stuff is most likely Gluten, nowt to be worried about as I leave mine until the Gluten causes the particles to become sticky and slimy before using.

With hemp it becomes better with age,

Just fill your bucket with cold water and leave for a few days that should sort out the smell.
