is there a hook to pellet size golden ration?

e.g. I use 10mm pellets what size hook should it be matched to

or does it not matter

No there isn't and never will be a golden rule as stated hook sizes are an absolute joke! I've seen an exact match with a size 12 and 18 hook from two different manufacturers.:(

I,m only basing this on hooks i use- Kamasan B911- 4mm expander-18 or 16, 6mm expander-16 or 14 , 8mm expander-14 or 12 Preston PR36(with band) 4mm hard pellet-18 or 16, 6mm- 18,16,or 14, 8mm-16 or 14.....they are just the general hook patterns and size pellets i stick to on the pole, cheers Gaz
