Hi everyone
The names Kev and am from Newcastle. I've been wanting to get into fishing for years but haven't had the chance due to the time constraints of a young family. I went pier fishing many many moons ago with my uncle but didn't have a clue and just loaded a line full of multi coloured beads so I am as much of a new starter as could be.
I have a cheapo Fladen rod and reel I picked up from TK Max with #6 line already on for a grand sum of £15 and have been pond fishing up in Northumberland with a friend once and it done ok for a first outing.
I also play golf and I'm guessing that you get what you pay for in The same sort of way with the gear you use
Anyway, I'm looking forward to learning about fishing, how, where and when and am sure I'll be throwing plenty of questions you way
