Tragic, I noticed that Simon hadn't posted for a while......maybe Bob H could add something?

RIP Simon

That's very sad news and I can only echo the sentiments expressed by others, condolences to his family, friends and all that knew him.

Very sad.

I only knew of Simon from FM and really enjoyed his take on his fishing, particularly those big chub which I found fascinating. A fine angler who could also write very well indeed.

RIP Simon.

I can only echo what has been said and my thoughts are exactly the same as those of Neil.

Another huge loss in a most devastating year of loss for angling.

RIP Simon.

RIP Simon.

I met him once on the banks of Fishers Green, a warm and friendly guy. And his articles on fishing the Lea system for those incredible chub were excellent reading.

Hi guys, as secretary of the Osprey SG I wanted to say that Simon, as was his way, wanted news of his illness kept quiet. But it was still a shock to the few of us that knew how quickly the end came.

I fished with him a few times and had a great respect for his angling prowess and dogged attitude that saw him capture many specimen fish.

He was a smashing bloke and will be sorely missed.

I'm sure Bob H add his thoughts at some time.

RIP Simon.
