river trent free stretch in burton

Hi All this is my first post Im working in burton next week and was going to take my rod with me and fish the river at burton(the rest seems to belong to clubs)has anyone fished it recently and what methods baits pegs are best?

Coors Angling river festival is on during Sept 17th 18th & 19th so the river will be busy on the opposite bank of the free stretches during the day but I guess you’re more thinking after work and this won’t be an issue.
Ted at Burton Angling Supplies just past the railway station towards the town hall will be able to supply your bait and the best advise, fished the river twice last week very enjoyable, just a simple stick float approach.

about 90 miles from leeds, how long will it take me to get there?
