I got mine last year, after several years of threading poles! (I've had enough of these). I one sentence.. Yes, they are brilliant, primarily because its not so much a hassle to move swims, if the fish are showing elsewhere.... On the plus side, easy to put up...4 mins, you must be asleep... 2 mins more likely. On the minus side, the fabric on the original rips easily, particularly adjacent to the central boss, so be careful (mine has an extra air-con.vent at the top). Second, the outer skin doesn't remain waterproof for long, so Fabsil it each season. Also, as someone else has commented upon, use a silicon spray to keep the snap-lock joints smooth. I gather that the new design this year has a 4 oz cover, so this should get rid of these negative points. Despite the design, it seem stable in fierce winds, although I've had a few anxious moments, when it seems that the whole lot is going to turn into a hovercraft- buy some decent pegs! One thing to do is to get the extra groundsheet. It doesn't weigh much, but mine already has a couple of holes- rather have them in the groundsheet than the bivvy! Bit of a bastard to get back in the bag though, particularly when its wet, but with a groundsheet, it shouldn't get too dirty, and I'm sure we all air our bivvies after every trip-don't we? Simon.
