I live in Burton Upon Trent and have all these waters within10 miles of my house ;

Rivers ; Trent, Dove, Tame and Meese

Reservoirs ; Blithfield, Formark and Staunton Harold

Pits ; Branston Waterpark, Swarkestone, Manor Park, and Barton Pits

Over 30 Lakes and pools,

Over 15 Angling Clubs,

So is this the best place to LIVE and FISH or RETIRE....?

Fred, I know you've got the Avon and Stour but what else?

Can you match what we have here?

The stillwater fishing around Ringwood is nothing short of outstanding, many waters, large and small, incredible fish. Add in Christchurch and Poole Harbours for variety and there are are lesser rivers that can be very good. The big plus is not having to live in Burton on Trent though you can still live in Burton (near Christchurch).

I suspect you know who will suggest Rotherham soon...

sorry brewery boy but I live 1/2 mile from the North Met pit (massive carp) ,one mile from Fishers Green(massive chub and barbel) ,3 miles from Broxbourne Mill (the conkers) home of chub to nearly 9lb and perch to 5lb

and 10 miles gives me the whole of the Lea Valley
