Update – North-West Fly Fishing Festival at Stocks Reservoir, Lancashire. Sunday 17th August, 10am.Here’s the most up-to-date information I have

Stocks Reservoir Fly Fishery is to host its second one-day North-West Fly Fishing Festival on Sunday 17th August. The free-to-enter event is being held at Lancashire’s largest stillwater trout fly fishery at Slaidburn, near Clitheroe. Visitors will be welcome from 10am onwards.

The event has been created to appeal to experienced anglers, newcomers to the sport and people who might like to give the sport a try, so if you’ve friends and family who you think might enjoy the day, invite them along! It should also appeal to Stocks regulars, and those who’ve never visited the fishery before.

All visitors will be given a raffle ticket on entry, which will be entered into a prize draw when you cast with some of the outfits that will be set up for you to sample. For experienced fly fishers there will be;* Demonstrations of single and double-handed casting techniques from AAPGAI qualified experts, including Jim Fearn, Gary Coxon, Steve Peterson and Tony Riley.* Casting competitions for all-comers, testing distance and accuracy* Fly tying demonstrations from Paul Procter and Darren Booth.
