New carp reels

Ijust thought if anyone wanted a new set of quality carp reels at a bargain price, to look at the Angling Direct website www.anglingdirect.co.uk They have Wychwood Solace 10 ACS reels at £49.99 Just thought you would like to know.

I've had a pair of these since they were launched. They feel very solid and dependable, have nice, smooth main and baitrunner drags and fantastic line-lay on reasonable-sized spools, which makes casting effortless

However, there's one thing that displeases me immensely - the gearing is evidently too high, making it quite a chore to wind in after a long cast (not something you notice when twiddling with them in the shop.)

Anything other than a fast retrieve takes quite considerable effort - like a bike stuck in tenth gear! Maybe I'm just a wimp , but it's worth bearing in mind.
