Good evening to you all.

I have a Shimano Exage 2500RC reel which is the double handle version.

I find this handle is good for legering but would prefer a single handle for trotting as the 'other' handle gets in the way.

I've done a bit of googling but can't find anywhere (without contacting Shimano directly) where i can buy a seperate single handle from.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thankyou, Paul. :)

Cheers Sam.

I phoned both. I've got to ring Shimano back on Monday as no one was there who could help and pretty much the same for Fishing Spares.

Both the fellas i spoke to were helpful. The chap at Fishing Spares reckoned a single handle would be between £15 to £20.

May just stick with the double handle at that price lol.

Cut one side of the double handle off with a hacksaw and sand and polish the end. Looks good!

But as the original poster says he is using Shimano, I assume he has some standards, that probably are a fair bit higher than switching to such an inferior brand!:):):)

Why don't yer look for a cheap Shimano reel of a different size and change the handles over?

Lol. I couldn't possibly comment on Preston reels as i've never owned one.

I do like my Shimano's though. :)

What other Shimano reels will have a handle that will fit mine?

I'm not particularly bothered what it looks like....as long as it fits!! ;)

I should keep it that way, they maybe excellent for terminal tackle but these firms should leave reel making to the experts like shimano and diawa!
