River Tame Stockport

Just getting back into freshwater fishing after a long break and fancied having a go for some barbell and chub. Can anyone give me some advice/tips on fishing the river Tame in Stockport please?

Only fished it a couple of times but its a nice river gets quite busy as well even at this time of the year a lot of people still using the good old meat for the barbel and chub as well usual chub baits bread corn maggot even theres are also some big trout in there most pegs seem the same ie slow and deep
Was up there a week ago on a stick session bjt didnt really do well at all
