Sea anglers that target bass know how dire the situation is with the bass in British and indeed Irish waters it is a wonder any are left to be caught. These fish are being hit from all sides and have been for the last 40 years. Measures have been taken to protect them but I fear it is all to late. I heard of one catch taken by a Guernsey boat some years ago that was worth £36,000. at the time bass were £16 per kilo on the Guernsey market.
