Gardner target specimen hooks

Thinking of trying these for Tench in sizes 12 / 14 / 16 , maggots and casters hookbaits , also considering the Korum Xpert hooks , and Pallatrax 'the hook' ; all quite similar patterns , shortish shank , wide gape beak point . Anyone care to offer their thoughts and opinions ?

The only one I'm familiar with is "The Hook" and having bought some on a whim I've been very,very impressed. Nice "shape",properly sized,strong,very sharp and [so far] I've not lost a fish on them. Good hook.

They all look similar to my eye,short shank wide gape beak point.Only difference is the price.Korum being the cheapest by far.Have used them all in size 10 & 12 all ok no issues

for matchfishing i use tubertini,but for everything else i always use owner hooks in my opinion the best there is...

Hi Dave,
Just remember wire thickness is king when it comes to hook penetration.

A touch with a stone before and during use and most fine wire, forged hooks will do the job far better than someting thick enough to hold a 100lb tuna.

Totally agree about Owners, superb for anything in the serious catagory.
