Im back in the UK currently.
The Fishsiam.com team has nowcaught forty nine individual Giant Freshwater Stingray in a forteen month period from both the Ban Pakong and Maeklong Rivers.
These things are clearly breeding in both rivers and seem to have suprisingly much higher and healthier population densities than previously believed.
We are about to start a research project in conjunction with the Royal Dept of Thai fisheries spanning a two year period.It will include the tagging radio/identification of these creatures which will hopefully give a much greater understanding of population densities in addition to their movements throughout the massive river systems that they inhabit.
