Looking for an economical alternative to expensive boilies?
Try Brussels sprouts - boil them, but not as much as your Nan did.
They can be threaded on to pva tape to make a nice stringer and the can be complemented by pva bags of peas.
Dont forget to freeze any leftovers from the Sunday roast - they kids may not like them, but the carp love them.
Also, a big advantage to using this approach is that you will pick off the vegetarian fish that the guys using HNV baits are missing out on. The veggy carp tend to be less bloated and a lot leaner then the boily fed fatties, so be prepared for some fast runs.
I can't begin to tell you how many fish I have caught on this method. Go for it and let us know how you get on.
