what is the difference between a fixed rig and a safe rig. im more interested in the fixed rig as im going to fish some lakes where they dont allow them.

a safe rig is where if your main line breaks the lead is left on the bottom or can be pulled off very easily if the fish snags the lead.

a fixed rig or death rig as its known around here is a rig where the lead is fixed permently and if the fish snags the lead the fish would be also tethered to the snag

so the use of safety lead clips is what is needed? what about inline, i take it they can be classed as safe?

for complete safety for the fish a safe rig is best..(lead clip) i have had the problem of weed jamming an inline lead in the past as Frothey mentioned
