Hi, It depends on what kind of boilies you intend to make long term HNV or instant attractor mix?

For long term and baiting campaigns consideration should be given to the basic components necessary to make a good boilie; BINDER, TEXTURE, SOLUBLES, VITAMINS & MINERALS, PALATABILITY/TASTE, OILS/FATS, PROTEIN & CARBOHYDRATES.

Semolina and soya 50:50 mix is the easiest to roll but if your looking for something a bit more nutritious and attractive try ground bird food mixes, a few drops of oils and natural flavours added to your eggs. You can also add soluble ingredients such as lamb or calf milk replacement, and other milk proteins, salt, amino acids, basically anything that is soluble and mixes readily with water will leave a good scent.
Just be careful not to over do it with the solubles and artificial flavours.

You probably already have some recipe ideas of your own but here's the basics on rolling your own courtesy of Laguna...

Basic boilie making instructions:
Easy step by step guide

1. Put all your dry base mix ingredients into a large bucket with the lid on or use a large air tight plastic bag, blow into it and seal, then give it a really good shake to mix it well.

2. Next take your eggs, break into a large mixing bowl or bucket and gently whisk until all the yolk and white have mixed in together.

3. Now add any other liquids you require, liquid flavours, oils and colouring etc. and gently stir them into the eggs.

4. Add your dry base mix ingredients into the eggs a bit at a time and stir with a fork to create a thick paste. Now get your hands in there and start to knead, adding more dry ingredients until you have a dough that doesn’t stick to your hands - something that resembles playdough.

5. Roll out the dough into sausages either using your hands, or a sausage gun.

6. Now either place the sausages onto a rolling table if you have one to make your BOILIES or break small pieces off and roll in your hand.

7. Finally boil your BOILIES a few at a time in a chip basket lowered into a pan of boiling water for approximately 90-120 seconds depending on their size, then air dry for 48 hours.

8. Bag up and freeze or use once rehydrated.
