What a cracking story Rod!

My sentiments would have been exactly the same as yours I do believe.

Now, this leads me to a rather important and serious point, namely that this is the second time now I find myself in total agreement with you. The first being your views on maintaining the close season.

Now, in the past I have taken some of your comments, on other articles, to task, but again with this latest piece I am 100% in agreement with you . . . . . . .

You know, at this rate people here will begin to . . . .talk

May I point out that this doesn't count for a number of reasons
1. It's a carp and anybody can catch them
2. It's from still water and real anglers only fish the rivers
3. Your target species was tench

With the above points in mind I believe you should strike it from the record.

Seriously, what a cracking achievement, I bet you was like a shaky old dog with two dic I mean tails.

is it only me who finds it ironic that someone catches a carp while asleep

But then I awoke from a third mini-sleep to find myself staring at a patch of water with no float in sight. Even my sluggish brain put two and two together in short order and my right arm obliged by setting the hook into what felt like the bottom.

and then bemoans other anglers for fishing in a way they choose to

Five anglers were in position, each seemingly permanently fixed in place and each ensconced in a large, comfortable chair behind a pair of rods, with dangling buzzer bars, bobbins and the usual pile of purpose-made, camouflaged gear.

I think anglers should stop having a pop at one discipline or another ( Me I am a happy splodger )
