Lovely story, well written but is it that important to have witnesses ?
Surely catching it is all that matters.

Lovely piece.

I understand why you`d want someone there. A witness takes away the possibility of the catch being regarded as a classic "fisherman`s tale". But more importantly it`s someone to share a wonderful experience with.

I love being alone when I catch a good fish, just me the fish and nobody else, nobody to swim jump, nobody to spread the capture to all and sundry, I rarely photograph fish these days in fact I have just sold my camera.
