If he wants to Carp Fish then start him off on a commercial pool full of easier low doubles. If you start trying to get him to catch small Rudd on a whip he will lose interest in the whole scene. If its Carp he wants then teach him Carp, once he is happy catching Commercial Carp then its time to let him try different types of fishing. Its good that you are willing to give your time and effort to your friend so dont spoil your friendship by teaching him something he doesnt want to know about yet.

Make it enjoyable and he will come back for more. Make it a chore and he will go.

Whatever you decide to do, have fun.

i would think it best to start off in a lake thats stocked with both get him used to the feeling of playing big ish fish while set a carp rod up aswell that way u maykill to birds with one stone that way the waggler fishing will keep him from geting board if th carp dont want to play

tight lines guys /forum/smilies/smile_smiley.gif

maybe at this time of year being over ambitious may not be a good idea, roach on hemp or pike fishing can be good sport
