What have you got?

I couldn't agree more with "you can never have too many rods", just the problem I have is that I can't afford much - being a student and all. Just wanted to make a thread where people can brag and see what others use and have got. I've only got a few rods at the moment but I'll add the few I'm looking at buying.

1x Daiwa Ivan Marks Lightning Carbon 13ft Match - my £5 car boot find
2x Lineaeffe Carp Beater 2.75lb (spot on for 20 pound each!)
1x Lineaeffe Telescopic 8ft heavy spin rod
1x Kingfisher 12ft float rod

The bottom two will probably see the bin soon...

I did have -
1x NGT 2lb 8ft stalker (sold it, far too "short and stiff")
1x Unknown 13ft Shakespeare match rod (neighbours took it out with the hedge trimmers whilst it was leant against the hedge)
1x Korum 12ft 2lb barbel rod (sent it back Friday, had it 4 days, just wasn't right for my small local river)

And I'm buying -
1x Shakespeare Mach 1 XT 14ft Power Feeder (Trent match rod)
1x Shimano Forcemaster AX 11ft "Mini" Feeder rod
1x Abu Garcia Carbon Devil Spin 7ft

Also wanting a pair of "big river" barbel rods which I may buy nearer to Christmas when there's a lot of floodwater. As well as a Korum 1.5lb all rounder for fishing my local small river as well as using it on my local commercial, thinking of getting a Ron Thompson 1.5lb barbel rod for the time being as it's cheap cheap cheap!

There's a few more I want plus I want to replace my carp rods eventually but that's gonna be a while yet!

So, what have you got?

What have you got... I thought that was a clinical question at first :D

On the predator side there is:

Grey G-Lite 6' spinning rod 4lb -8lb line rating IIRC, love it... great fun

Greys GRX-I 10' lure rod (15- 45grm?), great action but don't like the reel fitting as the screw thread seems to me to be on upside down and can make it uncomfortable to hold as your first finger wraps around the thread near the reel seat instead of the cork

2 x Fox Warrior 2.75lb deadbait rods (also used to double up on occasions in Trent animal swims/floodwater conditions along with a bit of carping/long range pit work)... great rods for the price and a rarity in that they are robust enough to withstand my carting around in a quiver in set up mode

On the general side and requiring no further explanation are the Hardys:

13' Specialist Float

13' Specimen Float

13' Extreme Feeder

11' 6" Specimen Avon

10' Ultra-Lite Bomb Rod

And, gathering dust I have:

Fox 12' Specimen Float... utterly useless, bottoms out quicker than a tenner in a casino

Greys Rova Float 12' travel rod... Lovely bit of kit and well worthy of more outings than it currently gets

I think that's it... :D

Loads of rods here.

I just hope that if anything should happen to me my Mrs doesn't sell them for what I told her that I paid for them. :eek:mg:

Too many to mention at the risk of looking obscene - I have no desire to obtain any other rod as I feel I have the best available on the market.

Far, far, far more than is sensible and yet, strangely, not quite enough.;):D

That strikes a chord, Sam. Some of mine haven't been used for years, but the thought of parting with them makes me blanch (what if they're just right for a situation as yet unencountered?). Nevertheless, it doesn't stop me from shelling out for even more, on occasion. I suppose I have somewhere between 20 and 30 rods, but only half a dozen of those see the bank on a regular basis.

My neighbour died and left his gear in the garage. I organised the Angling Trust to collect it for their scheme of getting kids into fishing.
If you have any rods etc surplus to requirements I think that is the way to go.

Not sure smuggling is the correct behaviour for a moderator on here :D

But needs must and all that, fair play to you - they probably would have skinned you if they found out what you'd spent......

Am in no doubt I'd have done exactly the same thing......:)

Too many here as well. I bought two more on Thursday at an auction because they were cheap. A 10 ft Daiwa pellet waggler rod (whatever that is) which has a beautiful pencil thin blank and a fairly powerful action, and a non descript carp rod which will make a good bait dropper rod. I got both for less than half a tank of fuel.

As in the famous Rolls Royce salesman quote when asked what the brake horse power of the new model was my reply is also: Adequate :)

A much more modest collection than most on here.

Diawa Harrier-X match rod
Daiwa Black Widow 2.75lb tc
Ron Thompson Power Feeder
Dragon Carp (Electron Blue?) Avon barbel

I also have a no name short spinning rod and the match rod I bought as a kid back in the 80s. Nothing wrong with the match rod except it`s too bloomin` heavy.

I know the next few words I`ll type will amount to sacrilige to some people on here...

I`m pretty happy with the rods I have and can`t really think of anything else I want or need to buy.

As with many of the above, ''far too many''. But in my own defence I have been angling for a very long time, and things tend to amass. The range of rods are reflected in the fact that they go from split cane models, up to the very latest carbon jobbies.

And for the Wags amongst you,''no I won't be growing beans up my cane rods''.
