I've been using a cheap pair of carp rods and reels and I'm wanting to get something new very soon. I've decided on the 30Plus Kodex CX 2.75lb carp rods (a pair of them) as I've seen them in person and given them the usual "waggle and bend" test, so these are the ones I want. They're a bit pricey for me but I've managed to find them for £120 for the pair which seems pretty good if you ask me, they're lovely rods - nice slim blank, abbreviated handle and 50mm butt ring. I'm yet to find a good pair of reels to buy with the rods, I've looked around a little bit but I just don't know what I'm looking at... What I need is a 50/60 size, I'll be using them mostly on the river Trent as well as pits and lakes for carp and pike the other half of the time. I'm aiming to keep the budget under £200 so the reels at £40 or less.would be brilliant.
