Hmm. Mad-keen youngsters merely there to help out hoary old big-money Boomers and needing to be trained to do so....

Just go fishing, young man. Don't become a guide (note that the pre-Guide Scots word "gillie" meant "servant"). Encourage your peers, people of your own generation, and your future kids and any nephews and nieces to do the same. Be aware that guiding involves you doing very little actual fishing of your own, merely pointing others in the right direction and biting your tongue as you watch them make a hash of things. Angling - fly fishing in your own case - might just have a future if you do.

Saw Zappa at Knebworth in 78. Despite living in Germany I went to both concerts that year Finishing work at lunchtime after a 4am start on Friday, riding my BSA 650 through Germany and Holland to catch the overnight ferry from Hook to Harwich on the Friday, then rocking and drinking all day Saturday before leaving early Sunday for a lunch time sailing then a night ride back through Holland into Germany Sunday night for a 4am start on Monday.
God I wish I had the stamina to do that today.

Young guy needs another twenty years or so on his back to perfect his begging technique, !!.
