Do you have to have a pole license or is it just a rod one and do you have to have one if your in a match

For licensing purposes, a pole is considered to be a rod.

hi
rod/pole all the same only need 1 license to cover your fishing but only up to
2 rods check local rules you need a license to fish if in a match or not
