Martin, my g/daughter, 4yrs of age two years ago, caught perch, and a chub on the Leeds/Liverpool canal. She used an elasticated whip here, I've been teaching her to cast with rod and reel, hope to take her when the weather warms up.

I used to take my daughters fishing when they were much younger, they loved it.

But not surprisingly they moved on and more girlie things took their interest.

I used to take my daughter on overnighters when carp fishing, in the early days she loved sleeping in the bivvy, then, come morning she would wait for my awfull fryupps with a barbie and ken on either side of her.
later she became quite good at casting and playing a carp and once won a little prize from the angling time junior section for a little mirror.
She ultimately went on the front page of the anglers mail with a rather large mirror carp that she was unable to lift,
Happy times, but swim training , gcse'exams and ultimately a place at uni ended her angling a little early.
