Our current coarse licence costs £27 and lasts for the year. The new cost for a shotgun licence is £79.50 (£49 for a renewal) and lasts for 5 years.

Perhaps the EA could offer a similar service? Keep the one year licence available but also add in a 5 year licence or even 10 year that costs less per year but demands a bigger outlay.

Admin costs would be lowered and it would lessen the mad rush that comes around in April.

Thoughts?

I like the idea of a longer licence and there has to be a good saving in admin as suggested, I would definitely opt for it if it were available.

A good idea, excepting the EA spending the windfall of 5 years money early, (as though they would do that), and then having a shortfall in later years.
