How many of you folks fish for predators, game, match, silvers, or carp... do you encompass all the branches or do you specialise...?

I like most types of fishing Arthur, a bit of lrf/sea fishing, general course fishing after Crucian and Tench. Just getting into some lure fishing which new to me. Been fly fishing, bit to quick them Bluebottles though. Had 10+yrs serious carp fishing and decided life is to short. As for match angling (that deserves a thread of it's own opps:eek:mg: there was one) not for me, doesn't look like fun no one seems to smile:wh Big game fishingg, well if the fish can bite back forget it.
I guess that sums things up.

I fish for Carp (still) although the desire is waning...
I match fish (albeit at club level)
I fish generally (with antique gear)
I also lure fish, although the lures are light/ultralight so mainly for Perch & small Pike
I think I'd enjoy LRF if I lived close to the sea...
I've tried Fluff-Chucking.. but what you don't pay out on tackle, you pay out on day tickets.... so I'll give that a miss

I have fished everything except Matches !!

A number of my best friends are Match Fishermen, but I have never been tempted by something so totally artificial and Man Made ?

Everyone to their own I reckon.

I coarse fish and game fish. Trout, sea trout, tench, crucian during the spring/summer,grayling in the autumn and then zander during the winter. This year I shall be doing a bit of barbel fishing and I really need to get back on the roach next winter and shake off this obsession with zander. I match fished a bit when I was younger but not for years.

I have never been a carp angler and never will be. Ditto pike. They simply don't interest me.

A bit of everything for me. I'm just as happy going up to the local river for gudgeon, ruffe and roach with a six foot quiver rod as lobbing a half pound deadbait out for catfish. But during the year I'll spin for pike, perch and catfish, fish deadbait for catfish, stalk carp, fish rivers for barbel and have a couple of weeks mullet fishing.

I haven't had my fly rods out since moving to France but one might get an airing for mullet later in the year when we go up to Brittany. I also have some vintage tackle and regularly use centrepins and my old cane light Avon.

The only thing that describes the way I fish is that I like to find my own fish. I'm not one for easy fishing.

A bit of everything for me too (apart from match fishing, although used to do the LAA river matches in the 60's) I prefer to spend most of my time on the rivers during the season and gravel pits/farm ponds/estate lakes during the close.

I fish for everything. I'll happily do a week carping, or short sessions on the whip down the river for gudgeon.
I do a bot of sea fishing too, but not as much as I'd like.

The only thing I wont do is fish matches or commies for single figure carp

The more diverse the better for me.

I enjoy pike and zander on deads in the winter along with a bit of lure and dropshot fishing thrown in for good measure, barbel, carp and tench in the summer and a good smattering of silvers sessions (including a few targeted sessions on the mini species) in between... My main preoccupation has been perch for some time.

I did match fish many years ago in my youth but have only done local lake club matches of late, I'm a bit out of the way for sea fishing but always enjoy packing a rod when down in Cornwall for some fun with the mackerel, pollock and wrasse off of the rocks at Lamorna & Pemberth... I only wish I could get down there more often.

I have always been a fishing addict. If it swims I seem to want to catch it. I succeed sometimes but usually the fish are pretty safe with me around. I do coarse fishing, fly fishing and sea fishing, although I would rather catch a nice roach than a tope or a tarpon.

I'm mostly a river man but love my couple of boat fishing trips for tope every year.
I can happily sit by a lake all day watching a float or a tip but the thought of sitting behind a couple of matched carp rods all weekend would fill me with dread.
I did do a bit of fly fishing in my earlier years and although I loved the freedom and mobility I was forced to give up through my arthritis.
The idea of light lure fishing appeals to me, but, like most of us, my fishing time is limited and if I want a walk I normally have to take the dog who is a hooligan and even though he won't go out in the rain can't walk past a puddle without jumping in it. As a consequence he's a hopeless fishing dog.

Mostly coarse nowadays, used to do a lot of game fishing but apart from reservoir trout it's been a waste of time these last two years on the ribble.
Love barbel fishing on the river.
Just joined a members only coarse fishery, spending most of my time there.really enjoying it.
Probably give up one of my game fishing clubs next year.
These fly only salmon fishermen are really starting to do my head in.
Pompous idiots.?
