I now have all the gear i need to start fishing again, and have joined my local lake syndicate.Havn't fished yet,but went to lake last week and spent an hour or so plumbing depth and mapping the lake and its features.I now have an idea as to where to fish and am now considering pre-baiting a couple of swims ready for my first couple of sessions.

I remember when i used to fish unfamiliar water that i would sometimes set up and then half way through the day think that i should be "set up over there" for a number of reasons. Not sure if this approach would still work as waters are apparently fairly pressured these days.

I see a video the other day where the guys spent a week at a lake but didn't get there rods out until the second day....So on a new water do you do the homework and find where the fish might be,or do you select a likely or best available swim and bring the fish to you?
