Are these 10ft maver abyss and shimano force master just small carp rods or is the tip fine enough to fish 3lb line and a 2BB insert waggler
Cheers rob

I use a Maver Abyss 11ft for silvers and tench fishing - it's handled carp upto 10lb - and even small-river stick-fishing with an Abu closed-face reel trotting with 3lb FloatFish. Fine!

I could have sworn I'd answered this already. It took a while to figure out and find it on another forum. Here it is again.

I bought my nephew a ten foot Forcemaster Commercial Float rod. He's still at the stage where anything that pulls back a bit scares him rigid. That generally means that the rod spends most of its life bit bashing. It's perfectly adept at doing so. Despite the image that the name conjures, it's not a poker. It's nowhere near being a small carp rod. It's just a short float rod with more of a through action than a "proper" match float rod.
