Jamie: I used to live in Romford and I know you have some great fishing available to you, everything from the river Lea to all those Essex gravel pits. First port of call is your local tackle shop. Go in there and ask the guys behind the counter to sort you out. If they can't, they don't deserve you - go to another shop and give them your business instead.

Although I can't meet up with you there are plenty of clubs around the area with good waters. BDAC own miles of the roding plus lakes, a bit further out you have Chelmsford AA. Going in the other direction you have the Lea and it's gravel pits, most are on day tickets.
If you want any advice on fishing the Roding I might be able to help you out.
