Believe me Dave, it does come off quite easily. I suspect a lot of that trick with the ½oz weight was more to do with suction.
When you let it dry though, you can roll it into a small green ball in your fingers. But mind the wife doesn't see you playing with it between your fingers or she'll think the worst.
