I went down to Newport Pagnall yesterday with fellow DVSG member Martin Womble to the annual get together of the Milton Keynes Specialist group.

Agreat crowd of people, including a few angling legends attended. To me the highlight of the evening was when Peter Frost (a true fishing legend) showed me a copy of the RichardWalker Memoir that was signed by virtually every angler of note who was there in 1988.

Copies of these memoirshave been changing hands for £100 recently. But Peter's copy had something like 35 signatures on it. Can I name a few?

Peter Wheat, Bernard Venables, Fred Buller, Frank Guttfield, Dave Steuart, Bob Church, Peter Stone, Maurice Ingham, Chris Yates, Peter Thomas..........

Do I need to go on?

That copy is priceless mate - look after it.

We were entertained by Nigel Botherway, who often presents "Fisherman's Blues"instead of Keith Arthur. Nigel told us of his latest exploits in Sirinam in SouthAmerica, together with somesuperb photography.

I was able to have a chat with Nigel who has also spent some time in Southern Africa. We had a great deal in common.

Two very weary anglers drove the 120 odd miles back to Rotherham laterlast night. But the trip had been worth it.

Hi Ron,

Been there a couple of times with Fred Crouch, as you say a really nice bunch down there.

Funny enough I think Nigel gave a talk when we were there, very good as well.

All the best.
