Havn't fished it for donkys years. It was gudgeon alley. Roach against far cover. There were carp aplenty there too. The Watford stretch below Hunton Bridge had chub and in the "wides" boat turning bay- bream.
Above on the LAA much the same with a good spot below where the Gade flows in. The fast water below the lock gates is worth a trot.

Plenty of dog ***** so watch where you plonk your tackle.
Make sure your car is locked and alarmed with nothing on show!!!

I haven't fished there for years either; and will be very interested in reading how you fared especially if you fish the Lady Capels stretch just downstream of Hunton Bridge which used to be one of the best match stretches in the area many years ago; full of decent sized Chub, Bream, Roach and a few Carp plus a large shoal of big Perch that roamed up and down that stretch.

The chub used to hug tight against the far edge and won or placed me in several matches back in the 90's.

hi Caelan
Thanks for letting me know how it fished. Sounds a bit dire, definately not as good as it used to fish.

There used to be a bush on the far bank on the upstream side of the road bridge that always used to be a banker swim with Chub and Roach, and Bream shoals wandering about in front of it, but the water authority chopped it down in one of their tidy ups and ruined the swim; I don't know if it's grown back now though.

Best of luck on Sunday at Cublington lake.

Keith
