Fishing in south Manchester

Hi everyone

Thanks for letting me join the website first of all...

OK, I have very limited experience of fishing, but I've always wanted to take it up as a hobby. I've now bought a second hand rod, but have very little idea of how to use it, what the best gear is to use etc, and where to actually go fish.

Can anybody please recommend fishing tackle shops in the south Manchester area where the staff will give me advice on the best gear to use, and of course the best places to fish as a newbie?
