I bought some unusual beads from Go Outdoors, but didn't have time to have a good look at the display.

The brand is Sasame - presumably Japanese - but marketed in the UK by Bluezone Fishing. I've had a trawl thorugh their online catalogue and found all manner of interesting little items, ostensibly for spinning, but with the potential for use in wider applications. Bluezone have a few other brands under their umbrella, but Sasame is mostly terminal tackle.

These are a few of my faves; I particularly like the 2-way beads with holes at right angles to one another - ideal for paternostering with a lighter-blobbed hooklink, perhaps. Good for drop shotting, maybe, as with the ones that I bought, which are a variation on the same theme with a thin, sprung tube exiting the side.

Bump, for those that missed it in its rapid fall down the FM charts. Interesting gizmos for lure fans, but some items have potential for wider coarse fishing applications.

I know how you feel when you post something and seemingly get little or no response. Most of the time it is seen and read but there might not be anything to say. For some reason, and I include myself in this, we do not automatically acknowledge such information as it would have been in direct conversation. Perhaps we should.

With that in mind, thank you for posting those links.

As to the use of such things, I think they feed into the ever-growing idea that all there is to fishing is to catch fish and anything else is a waste of fishing time. I tend go the other way, maybe to excess, and make/experiment with all sorts of home-made things. For me, making my own tackle, bait and other gizmos if all part of the fun.

Like any hobby or pastime, it is purely a personal thing and, if time spent making your own is not enjoyable, it is not worth doing on a purely financial basis. If you take the time and effort involved into account, it is certainly not. if this is the case then products like these make life easier and more pleasurable, enabling anyone to try out unusual rigs.

Ralph.

I wouldnt take it so personally Rob, reading it, i was under the impression it was an info statement for anyone that wanted to try this tackle or purchase something at a sensible price. This forum differs to many by its diversity and some forms of angling are a niche or specialist thing and most of these anglers have developed methods that work for them over many years and are not prepared to diversify. In my case, i have little knowledge of this type of lure fishing and as such cannot offer sensible comment on its tackle, to be honest guys that reply without knowing what they are talking about, can be just a source of confusion for everybody else, so on this one, i kept stum.

It's no hassle, really :) It fell off the bottom so fast I thought that I'd give those who missed it a second chance to check it out.
