Just got off the phone and it was the editor of Advanced Carp Fishing telling me that I've won £300 of Navitas winter clothing in a recent competition. Let it snow; I've got it covered!

Together with the Navitas Jacket that arrived this week I'll look like "Mr. Navitas" from their clothing ads. Well, a shorter, older, bespectacled version, maybe. :)

Plus one Ian, this is the first time I've ever heard of someone winning.

Nice one, I do wonder if real people actually win things

Last time I mentioned just how much I'd been winning a gentleman of the forum said that he hated me (hopefully with tongue in cheek!) so I won't be doing that again.;) What I will say is that there are thousands of online competitions and if you're determined enough (and are prepared to put the time in) then you're likely to win regularly.

My other fishy wins have been:

Fish-shaped cushions!
A bamboo fly box from Turrall (loaded)
Daiwa Spectron 9-10ft feeder rod
Some gadgets that look like mesh boilies that you fill with bait; I forget their name.
The full range of ESP pop-ups in both sizes
A Kelly kettle

That's just the fishing stuff; the full list defies belief.:D

As they say, you have to be in it, to win it.

Back in 2003 I won a Shakespeare Flaviour Pole from a simple word search comp that was in Match fishing mag.
Not an expensive pole but very welcome at the time.
