Some good tips there Mark.

I'd like to add that Google Earth is also a useful tool for scanning the landscape for new waters.

You can zoom in quite close on some areas and even see deep and shallow areas of a river for example.

Google maps is also useful and often shows the names of still waters.

Nice little piece, Mark

I like google earth - trouble is getting to some of the lovely new waters that you find. Not all toffs have as complete control of their bicycling guard chimps as his Lordship.

Time to read Mark's article - Corkers. Does that mean you've finshed a posted the copy to hos Lordship? /forum/smilies/wink_smiley.gif

yes nice piece Mark, I can remeber writing in a similar vein about 30 years ago, no google earth or internet in those days, lifes much easier in that respect, just word of mouth, local clubs and tackle shops and the good old OS map searching out the bits of blue
