Enjoyed that read Cliff, very good...i've had similar experiences with unfished hot spots myself, so as you rightly say if you find one "make the most of it" as it's only a question of time before someone clocks you and then the circus rolls up and ruins the swim!

That's a lovely story Cliff, hidden swims, unfished stretches of rivers.

That's what makes fishing dreams are mad off !!

Very enjoyable read Cliff.

Yes those magic places but you never can feel quite comfortable. As if you are being naughty and the feeling you are being watched pervades the pleasure some of the time.

Once others invade the special place it can never be the same.

Great article Cliff, those stretches on the Ouse still exist, sadly the golden giants are few and far between, thanks for the memories.

Yes, Wanderer - thoroughly ottered I suspect. The very last time I fished the Ouse I didn't get a bite but I DID have a family of otters pop up right in front of me then casually swim downstream.
