Getting back to fishing

Hi all
I will be celebrating my 57th birthday shortly and for the past 18 years iv'e been working 7 days a week. Before that I fished regularly in and around Sussex. I am now living in the Dudley area, West Midlands and want to get back to fishing. I don't want to specialise in one particular species and I don't like fast flowing rivers. Does anyone know of any good venues in this area. Day ticket or membership is good. Not keen on venues that allow lots of kids in the summer months. I would prefer venues that also allow dogs. Any help would be appreciated and if anyone needs a fishing buddy then that would be great.

Welcome back to fishing. I don't know the West Midlands but a quick Google search revealed many tackle shops which must be the first port of call for info.

Things have changed in the last 18 years as there has been a proliferation of day ticket waters that would maybe a good place to start.

Don't worry about hoards of kids running round the fisheries....you will be lucky find anyone without either grey hair or no hair nowadays. Most kids just seem to want electronic games.

Morning Peter.

The canals around here can be very good.
There are several pools in the area the big problem is they have been hit by the East European problems and the big fish STOLEN for the table.
