Sorry if this is in the wrong section couldn't find a suitible one.
I've recently bought a mini st4000 shimano baitrunner and was wondering if I could also use it on my 12 foot carp rod chucking 2.5 oz leads out or will it damage it any help appreciated thanks.

hi, I can't imagine it would damage your gear m8, carp rods are generally really strong. what test curve is your rod?

I think he means would it damage the reel pal , which it wouldn't , I've never seen the reels so just check the line capacity mate make sure there's enough line left on the reel after the cast to cope with a run and a fish possibly heading away from you when hooked.
