Hi all, from London originally but now in Cambridgeshire.
I've been a very lucky angler for as long as I can remember,
don't really specialise as I tend to fish for bites, but can count
Chub to 7lb 2oz, Barbel to 15lb 8oz and Carp to 26lb, Perch to
3lb 1oz amongst some unexpected catches.
Tackle wise prefer to use cane, but for some situations carbon
is better. Never took to glass rods. Don't use hair or bolt rigs
but nothing against those who do, each to their own. I mostly
touch ledger short sessions so no need to use hair/bolt rigs.

Hello Macko welcome to FM, having a bit of luck now and then always helps but in my experience it usually accompanies ability and knowledge.

Hi Macko,

That's a impressive PB chub never even seen one that big in 60 years of fishing:thumbs: can't agree with you on the glass but heyho we are all different and your spot on that it's - each to their own:)

Would love to hear how where and when you caught your Chub???

Hi Daniel, caught two chub in two casts, 6lb 10oz & 7lb 2oz on curry flavoured maggots, River Colne in Uxbridge, free stretch, before Gerrards X took the water on. Also 15lb Barbel on the same stretch. That was my last season on that stretch before moving to Cambrideshire.

Good to have you on board, Macko....some impressive specimens you've had! I think you'll find FM interesting and, on occasion, infuriating! It does happen!
Please feel free to write about your angling ventures and submit them as articles of about 1,000 words or more + photographs if you can. That big chub's worth telling us about in greater detail...
