1- You should have been here last week, they were going mad.

2- They only take boilies here mate.

3- Wasting your time with lures here.

4- You need to be here at first light.

5- Not what it was this fishery, no big fish left.

6- You have to fish at range here, it's no good in the margins.

Can you add any?

"this place done a firty last week . . . . "

;)

"unless you lob in 10 kilos of boilies you'll never get a bite"

. . . and my all time favorite, and yes this really happened to me . . .

"how much was your rod mate, it seems to be catching more than anyone else on the river"

Thankfully, it was a one-off experience . . . . doh!

(whilst describing a lake's stock, particularly on websites or brochures that were written 20 years ago)

Pretty much all of the angling press speak:

The (insert tackle/bait manufacturer)-backed rod managed to tempt this fin perfect stripey with a ledgered lob generously soaked with Always Catch GlugTM.

The (insert Midlands/Northern town)-based angler has been on cracking form this season. He started the mammoth 36 hour session by spombing out 50 gallons of hemp, casters and dead maggot soaked in Expensive Baits Purple Krill liquid.

Specimen ace Fred Beerbelly tempted a brace of crocs from the depths of the on fire venue. "It took me over an hour to tame the two beasts and bring them safely to the net" said Fred in a made-up interview.

Urban fishing tips:bag up on neglected city centre canals!

I find it helps to read these with a Jeremy Clarkson voice.
