Why oh why? Do we have so many dividing genras who all seem to be against each other in modern fishing, It never used to be like this? Let's look at the genras in modern course fishing;
Purists - The ones who look down their noses at someone fishing a man made water - like a canal, dyke, pond or some stretches of river? Ban people from a forum for mentioning carbon Yes we should use cane rods and fish ancient glaciers only! mg:
Matchmen - who drop litter everywhere about like louts around the lake/river, belittling anyone who does not have matching bait tubs colour coded to their box and holdall! Yes we should all buy 3000 pound poles and fish them as long as possible all in a nice neat line and have a full box leveling system of their 1000 pounds boxes to fish from level platforms mg:
Carper's - who make bank fires, drink Fosters Carling etc and must have the latest 'carper' kit. Yes these lads will spend weekends or longer fishing for Burt the mirror carp from the airchair swim. But can never seen using any noddy matchmen kit or tactics. They tend to like camo too! Its very important to have a camo bivy it helps the white transit van parked next it blend in mg:
Specialists - These people seem to command a certain amount of superiority about them, they are 'true' fishermen who don't follow fashion. They wouldn't have to have x y and z kit or always fish poles or bolt rigs! No they are all rounders that catch large fish of all species. They tend to hold view anyone can mess with tiddlers like the 'unskilled' matchmen or fish runs waters like the 'instant' Carper's. But these people must wear green at all times and can never be seen with bright matchmen clothing or camo'd carper clothing, far more important than watercraft this
Pleasure anglers - the bottom of the barrel - the enemy of all the above groups of people, these people tend to do such terrible sins like - mmm fishing a pole from a carp chair, wearing a camo jacket while fishing on a seat box, or yeah, I've got it wait for this bad boy... Enjoying their fishing and not taking it too Seriously! I mean such idoits. The fact some don't fish in adverse conditions and/or have a PB list with a 8lb carp on it. Numpties
Think about it we are all fishing for enjoyment/pleasure. We all 'get' something from being on the bank. Why can we not tolerate others differences and help each other out?
