Hi all,

I'm planning a trip to linear later in the month, it's my first time down there carping. What is the best way to approach swim selection? I gather it gets busy down there so is it best to jump in a swim and then move to another available swim if it's not happening? I have a preconceived plan to fish on the Smiths/Hardwick lake but obviously that can change! Any advice would be gratefully received. Many thanks!

You can't make a plan to fish the lakes, as when you get there they may well be full.

Check the website, it has a daily update on how many swims are taken on each lake. Once your in a swim, you may have to sit it out if its busy, or change to another lake.

Remember they don't take cash at the lakes, it's credit card only. Some one will come round, just turn up and get into your swim.

Good luck
