Gardner giant rolling table advice

I've just bought one of these and just wondering when putting it together, just how flush do the pieces need to go in order not to affect the boilies or the pieces catching on each other when actually rollling. I've screwed the 3 parts of the base together and it is a right bitch to get it all lined up correctly and thats without even screwing it down to a base.

Im thinking about super glueing it rather than using the brackets provided but just wondered how other people have put it together and what they found best.
