Recently ive been fishing Rita a pond near me which is 80ft deep in some parts its a old mining quarry.
theres some big carp in there which keep snapping me and i wanted to know the best elastic strength and lines to use to land such beasts.
my last time out i lost 4 carp ... 1 nose dived down and snapped my rig and another cruised along the shallow ish edge , bent my pole and fully took my elastic out and snapped me again .. i dont even think the fish knew i was pulling on it lol was very strong.
ive been using 12lb elastic , 8lb main line and 3lb bottom with size 18 hook.
will 18lb hollow elastic land 30-40lb carp?
