Does anyone have any long term experience of the Drennan FD3000/4000 series of reels? Are they any good or should I spend a bit more? I need a reasonable spare reel for float fishing just in case I set up a second rod

Cheers

You will get different views from people.
I had a drennan 7 reel which was tough as old boots and I had a FD 3000 which was garbage.
Others will tell you different no doubt.

Go for a Ceratec or a exage mate.

As an alternative, take a look at the Greys GFS30 or 40. You can pick these up for £25 or £30 and are cracking reels for the money.

I have three Technium's, I bought the first one when they came out. I put some thicker lube in as they were a little bit too free for my liking and I have done nothing to them since. Top notch reels, mine have been totally reliable and have never let me down.
