The Skipton Angling Association has just acquired a new stretch of fishing at Skipton.
Over the past few months, the Association has been investigating the acquisition of fishing rights along a length of the Leeds to Liverpool Canal.
They have announced that the contracts have now been signed and all SAA members have the right to fish between Bridge 175 (Niffany Swing Bridge) and Bridge 178 (Belmont Bridge) the rights also include the Springs Branch which runs from the basin to the back of Skipton Castle.
Over the coming months they will be holding the second match of the Peter Hart Memorial Trophy along this length and also working hard to introduce day tickets for the benefit of non-members.
