Looking to start making a few feeders up myself, means I can tailor the size and weight for the venues I'm fishing.

I've seen it done with good results using hair curlers and lead strip, anyone have any other ways of making them?

Also, anyone know of a good place to buy lead strips to cut down for the feeders?

Two clues ben: do you live close to a church, and does it have a roof?

Seriously though with any luck Phil Hackett (TBA) will see this thread and reply as he has a lot of experience making his own feeders.

Plumbers/builders merchants. They sell lead in "rolls." Used for lead flashing in the building trade.

Tiny mini feeders cut strips from a milk bottle then staple together.
Bigger n stronger you can use the old style film containers if u can find any.
Big river ones try 40mm wast pipe cut to length.
Go to a scrap merchant for a few bits of flat lead , avoid the local church-- someone could throw a thunderbolt !.

Ditto the lead roll from builders merchant. I roll = 1 lifetime of feeders.

I bought a sheet of FINE wire mesh from the garden centre that was about 1 yard square.
Ideal for those large cage feeders. Much cheaper.

Cut the mesh leaving a tag which can be folded to seal the tube shape. A strip of lead can be cut with big scissors and folded round the joint.
A link swivel completes the job.

A lot less painful to lose than shop bought:D:D:D
